Showdown Rules

Who shows first, optional mucking, and how split pots work.

The showdown is the moment of truth — after the final betting round, remaining players reveal their hands. Knowing the rules here prevents confusion and protects you from errors.

Showdown order

The player who made the last aggressive action (bet or raise) on the river shows first.

If everyone checked the river, the player closest to the left of the dealer shows first.

Other players may show or muck (surrender face-down) — but only if they cannot beat the shown hand.

You must show both hole cards to claim the pot. A winning hand cannot be claimed with one card hidden.

Split pots: When two or more players make identically ranked hands, the pot is split equally. If the pot doesn't divide evenly, the odd chip goes to the first player left of the dealer.

In PolyPOKR's demo, cards are automatically mucked if you don't have the best hand — consistent with standard online poker practice where losers never have to show.
